spelling mistakes

Sooo I was just surfing on the internet checking out a blog from a girl who – I think – went to my school back in the days.

She has a blog, and her posts are mostly about fashion, which i love, but what i don’t love are her SPELLING MISTAKES!

It is natural to have your own writing style, or to misspell certain words, but writing

“I whore” meaning “I wore”?

I prostitute?

“I need to learn” meaning “I need to study”, which is a simple 1:1 german -> english translation.

I need to learn… learn what? Learn how to ride a bike?

In times of thousands of online dictionaries and sites which even conjugate verbs for you I think you can avoid making such kind of mistakes.

By the way: Those were just a couple of mistakes I found on her blog.

I am definitely not the “spelling police”, but I was wondering why people don’t seem to think it is important to have a correct spelling when they write blogs?

For me blog-entries are a kind of column, which makes a blogger is a kind of journalist.

I wouldn’t want to read a newspaper filled with spelling mistakes… would you?
