Cocoon Club Frankfurt Closing-Party

¡Hola! :-)

A video I shot. Please watch in full screen mode (don't know why the version shown here is so tiny!)
The bass there was off the hook, so sadly the quality is not overwhelming, but you get an idea ;-)

Yesterday - 11/30/12 - my friend Nadine and I went to the closing party of the legendary Cocoon Club in Frankfurt.

It is, or was, known for famous DJs (Sven Väth, Loco Dice, Ricardo Villalobos, Dominik Eulberg,...) at the decks and its cocoon-like interior design.

The line-up that night was:

10pm - 2 am   Ilario Alicante
2 am  - 3 am   Pig & Dan live
3 am  - 5 am   Dominik Eulberg
5 am  - 6 am   Kaiserdisco live
6 am  - End     Sidney Spaeth

We did not have early-bird tickets, so we decided to show up early, and just wait in the car, drink energy drinks and talk while waiting to get in line (we were thinking about getting in line at around 9.30pm).
The doors were supposed to open at 10pm, and we were there at 9.10pm, BUT:

There was already a line!

It was SO cold, but still we got out of the car, grabbed our drinks and stood in line for 50 minutes!
First come, first served, so once the doors opened we did not wait extremely long ("only" approx. 30 minutes).

Once the club was full, we met some old friends, which reminded me of old times! :-)

However, we were dancing our butts off and had an awesome night!
SO many people (almost too many) came, and everyone was going crazy.

Happy we were part of the last episode in COCOON CLUB FRANKFURT!

Here are a few impressions ;-) Enjoy!

Keeping it tight!

Hello again!

So now I am finally writing about something new...
...I recently found the strength to go to my gym (McFit Münster (Westf.)), when I found out:

They renovated it!

It looks so NICE in there now. Before it was not only a pretty cheap gym, it also looked like one!
Now we're talking about dark wooden floors (at least they look like they're made of wood), new lockers you can lock with your member card, new showers (although I prefer showering at home, for I only live max. 10 minutes away from my gym), new restrooms, new gym equipment... everything is NEW!

And there was something essentially new... the cybertraining rooms!

Cybertraining is a pretty innovative concept McFit introduces to it's gyms little by little, where the trainer of the course is only shown on a screen and you're basically watching a video on how to do the exercise and you are supposed to follow right away, like in a "real" course.

One of the rooms is for spinning and the other one is filled with 5 Power Plates.

picture taken from mcfit.de

The first time I tried a course, I chose "Interval Spinning Basic".
this is what you are supposed to look like while in your spinning course... not me!
picture taken from mcfit.de
Usually a course takes about 30 minutes, so I thought that would give me a good impression of what is going on there...
...but I was mistaken. I chose the ONLY course which takes about 1h and after 15 minutes I was already like I want to fall off my bike and just lie on the floor and relax.

The intervall spinning is SO DEMANDING... too demanding if you are just coming back from a gym-draught if you ask me.

However, if you want to keep your metabolism on the go, then do that. You're going to sweat like you've never sweat before!

Power Plates!
picture taken from mcfit.de
Yesterday, I went to the gym once again (after I regained my strength I used up in the interval spinning course) and was 25 minutes on the stepper before I went to the room with the Power Plates.

A Power Plate is a fitness device, that basically vibrates in different amplitudes while you do your exercises on it.

There I did a "Abs, Legs and Buns - Basic" course, which was pretty easy!
That's why I spontaneously joined the "Sixpack - Basic" course right after the ALB, but the exercises were mostly similar to the ALB ones, but had a back massage at the end!

After that, I still didn't notice any sore body parts, but I was already 1 1/2 hours in the gym, so I decided to go home...

...this morning I noticed what's really going on!
My back is sore, the back of my thighs is sore, and the sides of my stomach ache, too!

So, I guess it really IS an effective workout!
A girl I got to know there told us (3 girls and I met while waiting for the course to start), that doing exercises on the Power Plate is 10x as effective than doing it regularly with the gym equipment.

I guess that's right, for every course takes only about 30 minutes (rather 20) and still: you notice that you've done something!

So I can highly recommend you to do Power Plate courses, they are fun, not time intensive, at the end of my courses we always had the chance to massage our legs and back with the Power Plate, and you have really done something for your body! :-)

Keep it tight! Hahaha

Fashion's Night Out NYC 9-6-2012

Fashion's Night Out is a huge event hosted in many different fashion metropoles all over the world.
This year I had the possibility to take part of it in New York City!

In general most of the stores are opened longer and host special events with special guests.
For example: Alessandra Ambrosio visited a Victoria's Secret Store in NYC, or Diane von Fürstenberg showed up in her store (or Barney's, I'm not sure anymore..), or Big-Booty-Kim Kardashian showed up in Lord&Taylor on 5th Avenue.

That's where I met Tsetsgee, my uncle's fiancée, and we enjoyed the photo booth (sorry, I won't show the picture, for I personally look really UGLY and not myself on the picture hahaha) and free drinks and a glimpse through my phone on Kim Kardashian - close enough - who hosted a meet and greet at L&T.
Nice, huh? You only had to purchase her 123$ perfume set (with two damn stinking perfumes) in order to be allowed to get in line for the meet and greet.

Otherwise there were the designers of Project Runway and also the winner, who all presented their collection and designed free souvenir t-shirts for the people who waited in line (probably about 1h wait).

Afterwards we went to SoHo, and there we went in L'OCCITANE, where they also offered free drinks and then we went on to CLUB MONACO, to see what special offers they had for FNO!

Enjoy the pictures!

x J.
don't know her, but she was some popular person...

The winner of Project Runway

Other contestants of Project Runway

Blame it on the goose...
She likes big butts and she cannot lie! And also she can charge 123$ from poor teenagers to meet them for what? 5 seconds?

This was ONE side (of 3) where people were fighting for a picture of Miss Fat Booty.

Y-3 Fashionshow!

Sorry guys, I have been so caught up with studying, I didn't even have the time to complete my entries from my time in New York :-(
Now I will probably post this post here (obviously!) and then another one about Fashion Night Out :-)

- Here's a video I shot while watching the Y-3 show!-

On 9/9/12 my friend Pedro from Barcelona invited me to watch the Y-3 Fashionshow by Yoshji Yamamoto.

I met him really late, and the sun was burning (that was the first time I thought I would faint!) and we first watched the show before we got the chance to talk.
It was so good to see him again!
Afterwards we went to the pier and took some photos there of the beautiful sundown.

It was really impressive to see the show, and at the same time you are like "They worked so HARD for those 10 minutes?!"
But that is just fashion industry!

So stay tuned for the post about Fashion Night out!

Inside(r) New Jersey - Japanese Buffet Restaurant

Here is an insider tipp for a Japanese Buffet Restaurant in New Jersey:

MINADO (One Valley Road, Little Ferry, NJ 07643)

They serve a buffet with all different kinds of Sushi, Sashimi, California Rolls, Soups, Deep Fried/Grilled/Fried Seafood, Vegetables, Fresh Fruits, Beef, Pork, Mussles and a whole lot more!

The dessert is absically a variety of miniature cakes, ice cream, or freshly made crepese with a filling of your choice (e.g. strawberries and chocolate sauce, mandarin oranges, chocolate chips,... but no lemon! I was a bit sad about that for that's my favorite kind of crepe: Lemon and Sugar!)

It's -again- worth the trip, and bring your empty belly ready to be filled with you :)

Inside(r) NY State - Japanese Brunch Restaurant

Here is a insider tipp for restaurants in NY State

Mount Fuji (296 Route 17 N. Hillburn, NY 10931)

This is a Japanese Restaurant which is mostly famous for its brunch!

They serve everything you can think of:

Omeletts they prepare in front of your eyes.
Belgian Waffles.
Bacon & Eggs.
Croissants & Bagels.
Sushi & Tempura.
Steaks & Pasta.
Fresh fruits.
...and a whole lot more!

Find out more about it on
http://www.mtfujirestaurants.com/

Really worth the trip, but go there with an empty stomach ready to be filled with lots of good food!

Inside(r) Chinatown - Chinese Restaurants

Restaurant insider tipps for your stay in NYC!

1) Hop Kee Restaurant (21 Mott Street New York, NY 10013)
2) The Peking Duck House (28 Mott Street New York, NY 10013)

..both very good chinese restaurants!
Hop Kee rather specializes on deep fried dishes, but also serves "regular" seafoods or whatever...
People like Bill Crosby or Conan O'Brian have already eaten there..
A quite hidden restaurant, for you have to go downstairs, but there is a big sign saying "HOP KEE" so you'll probably not miss it!

The Peking Duck House is not far from Hop Kee and specializes on (surprise!) Peking Ducks which are served with a brown sauce (forgot the name), fresh cucumber stripes, green onion stripes and a kind of tortilla... It tastes really good, but funny thing is: they just cut off the skin and some meat, but most of the meat goes back into the kitchen and from there I don't know where else.. weird! But it tastes really good and the duck skin is super crispy!

Two good places to go if you crave Chinese food :)

Inside(r) Chinatown - Hair Cut

So dear readers, here's a super insider tipp for whenever you need a quick, beautiful and CHEAP haircut while staying in NYC.

Go to the "Beauty Salon New York City", which I cannot find on Google, but it is near Bayard St and Mulberry St.

A haircut there costs 10$! YES, 10$, which equals maybe 8 Euros!

And the lady who cut my hair was so good!
She really knew what she was doing (unlike some hair dressers in Germany).

I was looking for a hair salon with asian hair dressers, for I think they know hair best and they know best how to cut hair!

She was awesome!

...but I do not think there are a lot of foreigners (= not Chinese people haha) coming there, but the people there first thought my mom's Chinese. At least something, but probably disappointing not getting any answer in Chinese when the lady talked to her in Chinese.

In Germany you really have to tell the people what to do, here I only said:
I would like layers, please.
She only asked me if it was fine for me if she cut my hair to a certain lenghth, but that was it! No conversations and chitchat (things I HATE when being in a hair salon).
She simply cut my hair, and it really looks healthy now!
In Germany you tell the people to do so, but in the end they only cut off an inch and ask for 50+ Euros.

This was real quality to a more than fair price!

..Oh, and if someone would like to get his or her hair colored there: Long hair costs 30$.

So, I really suggest you to go there!

The whole procedure takes about 30 - 40 minutes, you could really just go there, if you would want to rest and get a hair cut at the same time!

NYC

Hello dolls!

I have now spent 2 weeks in NY (and NYC), and wanted to give my opinion on how I see and feel the city so far:

First, the reason why I am here is that I am currently an intern in a law firm in the Empire State Building, and YES I am still alive, although there was a shooting a week ago right at the time I would normally have gone to work (and entered the building).

But Friday is my day off, so lucky me!

I feel, that NYC is such a busy city! Everyone's roaming around, business people are RUNNING (that's what they call "walking") through the streets, and I catch myself murmuring "'scuse me, 'scuse me" and pushing myself through the masses, or at least try not to get stomped down by the running business people.

It's a beautiful city, but even as an intern you get a good feeling of what it must be like to work in a city like NYC. The attorney I am working with is working 60 to 70 hours a week!

I guess it really is something else when you're on vacation in NYC, for you have a lot more time and energy to capture the beauty of the city :)

Shopping here is of course also awesome and not as expensive as in Europe (also because the $ is not as high as the Euro).
I got a couple of new things, and am really happy about it.

However, I try not to write a novel here, but I'll just try to post my "insider tipps" I try to figure out while I'm staying here so you could be more prepared when you should come here some time soon ;)

Have a good night.

x J.

Going to NY.. First time in London!

Hey dolls!
Yesterday was my first time in London, although I did not really see anything but the tube for I was only there for my stop on the way to New York haha
Still, it was a great experience, but sadly no William, Kate or Harry in sight!
So now basically I'm going to stay in NY for the next almost 2 months, and I'll keep you posted about what's happening here.

Strawberry

Hey dolls!
I haven't been posting for quite some time due to my exams (I was literally just studying!)

..but now I'm back with a cute gift I got from my mom just now...
A strawberry ring!

I wonder how she knew I always wanted a strawberry (or a cupcake) ring, for I have never mentioned it in front of her before!

Probably that's what you call mother instincts...

Stay tuned, for tomorrow I'm going to fly to NEW YORK and I hopefully will find some time to share whatever will happen there with you guys :)

The never ending braided bun

Hey dear blog readers :)

I tried out a new hairstyle which I refer to as "The never ending braided bun".

It's actually a different hairstyle, which was not supposed to be a bun which I altered and now it is one hahahaI hope you like it :)

Don't forget to like my Facebookpage, and see you next time!

Diagonal Dutch Braid

Hey dear Blog Readers!
I haven't been posting a lot (or at all) lately, but that is due to my upcoming exam phase.. (or actually I feel like I'm in it already thanks to the presentations I had to present last week and tomorrow)

But I'll at least try to show you small things which inspired me :)

Today it's the Diagonal Dutch Braid.
It was supposed to become a Dutch Braid Updo, but I had to go to uni already so I just pinned it in place with bobby pins and rushed out of my appartment haha

However: I think it is a hairstyle which can be easily done in the morning before going to work or uni, and it keeps your hair out of your face!
I just left the other side loose, so basically the dutch braid "flowed" into my other hair which was hanging around loosely :)

Try it if you like it!

KHROMA

KHROMA article in the US INSTYLE

The Kardashian sisters Kim, Khloe and one I don't know (I definitely have not keept up with the Kardashians so far...) plan to launch a cosmetics line named "KHROMA - BEAUTY AT ULTA" (whatever that means).

On one hand in my opinion KHROMA is not a very appealing name for a cosmetics line, it rather reminds me of CHROME and maybe a nice new micro-wave, or something like that.

On the other hand it is extravagant.

But the more important question is: What's up with the "K" and "H" combination?

Also calling your daughter KHLOE? Makes the name look KHLUMSY.. eeh CLUMSY, as if you didn't know how it's correctly spelled.
I already foresee people saying "YES, but there are enough KHLOES and it can be written like that!" Sure it can, but you could also write "Dschosefihn" which should sound a lot like "Josephine" but you don't, right?

Chloé vs. Khloe.
Hard decision..

I mean: it's not her fault (KardashMOM, what did you think?), but to keep it up with the KH even in their brands name? Maybe they want it to be their "statement name" (for everything now is a STATEMENT something... statement belt, statement earrings, statement bag...).

Now to the essential question: Would you try their cosmetics?
My answer is: I don't know, for I do not even know what they will be offering.

Some people commented harshly under the U.S. INSTYLE post on facebook
"No." "HELL NO!" or "as if they need more money"

I doubt that it has occured to them, that also the houses of CHANEL, DIOR, YSL (...) surely do not "need more money", but we still buy their products, don't we?

Depending on the quality and price of their products, why not give it a shot!
If they should release a nailpolish or whatever which I simply fall in love with neither the "KH" nor the unattractive name (you decide which name I mean), nor my ignorance of the Kardashians will stop me from buying it, or will tempt me to boycott their products.

Don't be childish, people!
I already see you standing in line at the cashier for you could not resist.

However I wanted to share my "pink tea party moment" with you guys! :)

Crockstahzumjot Tour 2012

On 24 April, 2012 I went to the CROCKSTAHZUMJOT concert, which was basically one of the concerts on their tour. The performers names are CRO, ROCKSTAH and AHZUMJOT (so maybe you can tell why the name of the tour is so bizarre hahaha) You have a DEUTSCHES, ENGLISH and FRANÇAISE video.. ...the English and French video is mostly to advertise ROCKSTAH, CRO and AHZUMJOT for all of you who don't know them ;) Enjoy! DEUTSCHE VERSION ENGLISH VERSION VERSION FRANÇAISE I took a few cool pictures of Hännah standing in front of a cool car before the concert!
MERCHANDISING STAND
THE CRO BANNER (sad that the picture is so bad)
WITH SAM EXZELLENT (a long friend of mine, who now is a producer... (or already was back in the days, but he was pretty modest about it, so I didn't even know until NOW!))
P.S. Maybe you can tell that I bought iMovie, and I hope you enjoy the new "special features" (I still don't know them all, but I'm working on it.. or actually I'm not, for sadly I don't have the time at the moment)
